How Local Economies Benefit From Big Sporting Events

According to Whittle (2010), one of the great economic boons to any major town has been major sporting events, which can bring many people to the event. Major sporting events routinely funnel tens or hundreds millions dollars into the surrounding area.

I chose this article to use in my term paper because my term paper topic is "How can big events bring money or tourists for the country". In this article, it about sporting events such as super bowl (American football game NFL), they always make a lot of money, not only just for the events but also around area. Hotel reservations will be full if they located near the place of event. In the time of bad economic, people are still interest in big events, it made hotels, shops, other business around the events or in the city will boom too.
